Rocky Road Ahead For Obama As He Tries To Fix The Mess and Campaign

Rocky Road Ahead For Obama As He Tries To Fix The Mess and Campaign

President Obama went to Michigan lately to discuss the possibilities of how cleaner energy could create more jobs. He took part in two fundraising events with a number of key campaign contributors.

In spite of the memo of hope or the money rolling in for getting him re-elected, Obama does seem to have a particularly rough road ahead. He couldn’t leave Washington, DC for a month as he had to push debt negotiations. But even though he makes only short trips now, he is definitely exposed to the risk of catching flak for campaigning while the US is in a situation of chaos. People are still in a tiff over the economy and many are wondering if they should take the chance on a business loan should the economy not improve soon.

It might be a legit point, as his critics argue that he should be spending working hours to figure out plans for pulling the economy out of the trash can it is currently in. He also has to do something to plug the bleed caused by the alleged ‘runaway government spending’.

Nonetheless, with politicians campaigning hard for the upcoming election, Obama is no exception. However, Reince Priebus, Chairman of the Republican National Committee, made a comment that everything the President does is a fundraising haul or a calculated political move for beefing up his chances to get elected to a second term.

It’s true that the President cancelled at least ten fundraisers last month to be in Washington for working on the debt deal, and it is fair enough to say that Obama isn’t the first guy engaging into politicking.

Currently Obama is back on track with his fundraising. Among his major stops is Manhattan where he will take part in two $35,800-a-ticket events, which is actually the maximum legally permissible contribution.
